PROTECT YOUR CLOSING FUNDS
Pause. Call. Verify.
Fraudsters can impersonate a title company, lender or real estate agent. Before wiring money, call your closing team using a phone number you independently verified. Confirm the instructions by phone, especially if you receive a change by email or text.
If you suspect you sent funds to a fraudulent account, contact your bank immediately and notify your closing team.
Explore fraud prevention resources ↗What is title insurance?+
Title insurance helps protect against financial loss from covered title defects. Unlike homeowners insurance, it generally addresses ownership risks arising before the policy date. Coverage depends on the issued policy, including its exclusions and exceptions.
Does a lender’s policy protect me as the homeowner?+
A lender’s policy protects the lender’s interest. An owner’s policy provides separate protection for the owner against covered title risks. Ask our team about the policies available for your transaction.
What can a title search reveal?+
Public records may reveal outstanding mortgages, liens, judgments, unpaid taxes, easements or ownership issues. A search helps identify matters to address, but it cannot guarantee that every possible defect will be discovered.
What should I bring to closing?+
Confirm your specific requirements with your closing team. Common items include acceptable identification, any requested lender or association documents, and verified arrangements for closing funds. Sellers should also coordinate keys and access devices.
Can I close remotely?+
Remote Online Notarization may be available for eligible transactions. Your lender, documents and other transaction requirements determine whether remote signing can be used.
Is TR Title Corp. a law firm?+
